This axe is not high quality. But it is very sturdy and heavy and won’t break over anything. I found it difficult to sharpen and keep the edge sharp which is a sign of poor quality. However, sharpness is not all that important if your only going to be splitting fire wood. If you want a affordable axe that will last a long time under lots of use and abuse , go for it. Coleman makes one just like it and both are sold at places like Wal-Mart. I’ll give it four stars.

This little axe is durable and fuctional. Don’t expect to chop down trees with it but for breaking up campfire wood it’s just the thing.

First off the 1 star is not for quality, its for a health hazard. Well I wish I had known this before buying it but on the shaft there is a warning about a harmful chemical. May cause cancer and birth defects….. If this does not bother you then go ahead and buy it, it seems to be a sturdy hatchet, bigger than i was expecting. Again this product appears to contain lead or some other harmful material…
